Everybody knows that construction projects take longer and cost more than expected. But not everybody gets to experience for themselves the struggle of getting a project over the line, within budget. Anyone who has been through this will tell you it’s not easy, and it’s been no different for us at UHC.
For the last 4 months, our tireless architects and project navigator have been working tooth and nail to refine the plans to create high performing co-housing buildings that fit within our budget. With not just one client but 24 that has meant consulting with all households over which items can be eliminated or changed to save money. It’s a testament to our community building that those consultations have gone well. No mean feat, by any stretch of the imagination!
Now, the signing of a building contract is within sight. We’ve been waiting for this. We feel blessed that we are waiting together. We can’t wait to move in!
